Wednesday, October 22nd is Unity Day. This is a day when we can come together to send a visible message of building community through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange. This vibrant statement serves as a conversation starter, demonstrating support for students who have been bullied and advocating for bullying prevention.

🗳️ Election Day is just 2 weeks away!

Don’t miss the opportunity to cast your vote on or before Tuesday, November 4.

🚨 Attention "Mail-In Voting" Township Residents! 🚨
If your township usually votes through a mail-in voting process, this does not apply to this special election. You will not automatically receive a ballot by mail unless you request one through the absentee ballot process.

Your vote matters, and we want to ensure you know your options for participating in this year’s special election.

Need a refresher about what’s on the ballot? Visit GHECBond.com for details on how to vote, costs, tax relief opportunities, the proposed plan, and more.

Did you know?

As enrollment has increased over the past decade, we're now using every available space to educate students, including hallways and under stairwells. Although we have been dealing with a lack of space for the past eight years, it’s ultimately impacting instruction and education, and we need additional space for our students and staff.

How will the building bond referendum impact students, staff, and the community?

If approved, the plan would:

🛠️ Expand and renovate our CTE and agriculture shop, giving students earlier exposure to career opportunities.

📚 Improve classroom and teaching spaces to help attract and retain great teachers while making the most of our existing space.

🍽️ Upgrade the kitchen and servery to allow staff to serve students faster and monitor them safely.

🏀 Renovate locker rooms to address critical maintenance and provide adequate space for visiting teams.

Learn more about what the Ag2School Tax Credit might mean for you! 🌾🚜

The State of Minnesota offers the Ag2School Tax Credit, which helps reduce school bond costs for farmers and ag landowners.

🚜 It’s a 70% credit on all agricultural land (excluding the house, garage, and one acre surrounding the home).
🚜 It is not a tax deduction – it’s a dollar-for-dollar credit and is an automatic tax credit paid directly by the state with no application required.
🚜 The credit stays at 70% for the entire life of the bond.

If the referendum is approved, agricultural landowners would be responsible for approximately 24% of the cost. The state’s credit would cover about 57% of the total bond’s principal and interest. The Ag2School Tax Credit does not apply for operating levies.

Learn more about the Ag2School Tax credit by visiting GHECBond.org/cost and don't forget to check out our tax calculator while you're there to find your estimated tax impact.

How could the proposed plan affect your property taxes?

If Question One’s building bond is approved:
🏠 A $200,000 home would see an estimated $7.88/month increase starting in 2026.
🌾 An agricultural homestead valued at $10,000/acre would see $0.07/acre per month starting in 2026.

If Question Two’s operating levy is approved, residents would see no change in their tax commitment as the levy would continue at the rate of the past few years.
